STARRING CHRIS GIARMO, ERIN MARKEY + KRISTEN SIEH with TINA SATTER
GHOST RINGS unfurls a narrative of contemporary friendship and family-making told through virtuosic performances and evocative design. Mixing deadpan magical realism with the considerations of feminist thinkers, the resulting piece is a tender, harrowingly funny, unexpected musical experience.

Our benefit concert at Joe's Pub in October turned out to be one of our favorite company events ever. Kimberly Clark (Chris Giarmo's fabulous alter ego) led a live band and the Half Straddle company singing original songs from 8 years of Half Straddle shows.
We were joined by very special guests and friends including Heather Christian, Jim Fletcher, Hannah Heller, Mike Iveson, Jo Lampert, Paul Pontrelli, Lucia Roderique, James Sprang, and Lucy Taylor.
Here are some of our favorite photos from the night!

MINI ESSAY FOR 2015 EDWIN BOOTH AWARD HONORING MARÍA IRENE FORNÉS
As someone deeply inspired by the work of playwright and director Maria Irene Fornes, it was an honor to be asked to contribute something to the Edwin Booth Award ceremony which honored Fornes on April 23, 2015, at the CUNY Graduate Center. I could not be there in person, but am so happy Fornes and her work was noted for its moving significance. Below is the short piece I wrote for this. – Tina

Half Straddle's seventh full-length work merges teen movie influences from the late 80s, a live mixed score, and video landscape to create a brand new coming of age narrative. A teacher leads three students away from society. When they start an alternative TV station in the woods and meet a young witch who alters the group dynamic, their fragile new family begins to fray. Seventeenth-century captivity narratives, adolescent letters of Emily Dickinson, the teen movies, and more infect this darkly humorous consideration of how we make meaning for ourselves and our communities.
